May 15-September 15, 2025: Parking downtown St. Joseph will be PAID in all parking spots and lots on the West side of Main Street (our “side”) but free parking across Main Street (on the East side). You can find out which paid lots are all day, which lots are 3-hour, where to park on the east side of Main Street for free parking HERE. Curious Kids’ Museum and the Discovery Zone are located in beautiful downtown St. Joseph and just steps away from the St. Joseph River, Lake Michigan, and Silver Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! There are lots to do in St. Joseph and the surrounding area year round.
After quenching your thirst for curiosity at Curious Kids’ Museum and the Discovery Zone, be sure to splash at the Whirlpool Compass Fountain and take a whirl on the Silver Beach Carousel before relaxing on Silver Beach. A trip to St. Joe is only complete with a stop at St. Joseph Today to see what else is going on around town. Shop the unique shops of downtown St. Joseph, grab a bite to eat at one of the great restaurants and finish off your meal at one of our refreshing ice cream shops. Stroll along Bluff Park, walk on the pier (are the fish biting today?), charter a fishing boat, rent a tandem bicycle, surrey or scooter for the afternoon, pick some locally grown fruit and vegetables. Listen to a concert at sunset. Watch the fireworks over Lake Michigan for July 4th on the St. Joseph River. Spend the night in one of our nearby hotels. Play a fun game of miniature golf or hit the links at one of our outstanding golf courses, including the Golf Club at Harbor Shores, a new Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course. We also have an outdoor ice arena open Thanksgiving through mid-March and an indoor one open year ’round, an ice sculpture festival, and other winter activities.
So come… visit our charming area of Southwest Michigan for a day, a weekend or a whole week! We have everything and more!
