(1) Curious Kids’ Museum closed for repairs. (2) Curious Kids’ Discovery Zone (in the Silver Beach Center) is OPEN! Click here for RESERVATIONS and scroll down.
Please note: The Silver Beach Center parking lot may be closed/limited due to scheduled events. $5 parking fee Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Labor Day. It is a private lot, maintained by the SBC, and beyond our control. Summer parking below the bluff includes all paid lots, but parking above the bluff is free, though some spots have time limits.
January 2023: Curious Kids’ Museum is still temporarily closed due to a small electrical fire in July. BUT WE STILL HAVE PLENTY OF FUN FOR YOU! We have our 2nd location, Curious Kids‘ Discovery Zone, at the Silver Beach Center (333 Broad Street, St. Joseph), and have opened it more days for you! We are still asking you to reserve your tickets to Discovery Zone on Saturdays and anytime large groups of children are off school (Thanksgiving break, Christmas break.) At this time, we do not know how long the Curious Kids’ Museum will remain closed due to water/foam damage throughout 3 floors. We do know it will be many months. :'( BUT WE WILL REOPEN! We will keep our website updated. We are honoring all our Curious Kids’ Museum memberships at our Curious Kids’ Discovery Zone. If you have questions about your Curious Kids’ Benefactor membership…please bear with us as we work on a plan to best serve you, our valued member! Just like in 2020/2021 when we closed for 15 months and extended all our memberships by that amount of time, we are committed to giving our members the best we can!
St. Joseph City Commissioners are working with the staff and Board of the Curious Kids’ Museum as the Museum is housed in a city owned building. Architectural designs have been created rendering what the new Curious Kids’ Museum might look like, and could include many amazing aspects (including a glass cube in the front for more exhibit space and picturesque views of the lake) and up to possibly 4,000 feet additional exhibit space! Can you even imagine?
Thank you for your patience and understanding and genuine concern for this community gem!
We appreciate those of you who have reached out to us and those of you who have offered to help in any way you can! You are are why we have been here so long (33 years…and counting!) and you are why we’ll rebuild… better than ever! We cannot wait to hear laughter throughout the Curious Kids’ Museum again! See you at the Curious Kids’ Discovery Zone! 🙂
